We wanted to build a place where food wasn’t shy. Where we weren’t constrained by arbitrary rules and traditional pairings. We wanted food that hits the spot.

Sumo Bar Happy is a Japanese-Mexican fusion joint, designed for people who eat like they mean it. No dainty portions. No watered-down flavors. Bold, strong, delicious comfort food.

Teriyaki chicken inside a soft flour tortilla. Salmon teriyaki wrapped in soba noodles. Mentaiko in your taco. Nachos layered with chopped beef and unagi. It sounds a bit wild, but it works. Go with what tastes good.
